History

1999- The fire district recognized the need for daytime personnel and hired two firefighters to act as firefighters/drivers from the hours of 7AM-5PM Monday thru Friday.

2001- The fire district reevaluated the current staffing situation and the decision was made to add two more personnel during the daytime hours bringing the career personnel total to 4 firefighter between 9AM-5PM Monday thru Friday.

2004- The four career firefighters decided to join the International Association of Firefighters

2005- The fire district recognized the need to expand their coverage to seven days a week. In October of 2005 the Fire District decided to hire 6 additional firefighters to make a total of 10 career personnel which now included two lieutenants. The 10 career firefighters were divided into two platoons and coverage expanded to seven days a week from 6AM- 6PM.

Present- The fire district continues to operate seven days a week from 6AM-6PM with 5 personnel per shift. In addition to normal firefighting duties the fire district has expanded the services to the township to include commercial inspections, free home fire inspections, and fleet maintenance.

Future- In the near future we hope to expand our services to the township to include a first responder program, a child safety seat inspection program, and community CPR programs.
